Want to watch your high-definition (HD) cable TV anywhere in the house? What about enjoying some TV in the office when your boss is not ...er... watching (pun intended)?
Pinnacle's PCTV To Go HD Wireless is a device that hooks up to an antenna, set-top box or direct cable connection, and lets you stream videos wirelessly anywhere in the house or to a remote location (e.g. your office) via the Internet.
The available video connection types are coaxial, composite, S-Video and component, and a pair of analog RCA jacks for audio - no HDMI or digital audio connectors.
The PCTV To Go software turns your PC into a remote control and enables you to perform TV functions like changing channels remotely, pause, rewind and record.
Videos are streamed as DVD-quality MPEG-2 when using the wireless option, and a lower quality MPEG-4 when using the Internet. According to a review by Wi-Fi Planet, there's little to complain about the video quality, which is generally good for both local and remote streaming.
PCTV To Go Wireless HD is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows Vista (32-bit), and is currently only available in North America.
