Sarotech's ABIGS is a good indication of the future of digital home entertainment. The little red box is a multimedia player that supports virtually every media format available and outputs in HD (up to 1920x1080i) to your monitor, LCD TV, projector - you name it! There is even a built-in FM transmitter to let you stream music, e.g. to your car radio.

Impressive Specs:
Audio Output - FM transmitter, analog L/R, coaxial (5.1), optical (DTS)
Video Output - Composite, S-Video, RGB component, DVI
Supported Media - AVI, WMV, ASF, IFO, VOB, MPG, MP4, MP3, WMA, PCM, JPG, BMP

The ABIGS weighs from 850g and uses the internal hard disk for storage but can also play content from a thumbdrive connected to its USB 2.0 port or via Ethernet cable (a wireless ABIGS is also available).

There is a remote control that gives you the usual playback functions plus the ability to browse your files/folders and even bookmark a video. A little LED screen at the front indicates the progress during playback and filename.

The only complaint is that you cannot record audio/video directly from source, e.g. your cable tv, and there is no thumbnail view when browsing photos.
