Sony recently unveiled 3 new additions to its TX series of ultraportable laptops, namely VGN-TX57GN/B, VGN-TX57GN/T and VGN-TX56GN/W (known as TXN27GN in some areas).
The laptops sport LCDs that are only 4.5mm in thickness, thanks to Sony's white LED technology. With a carbon body and weighing a mere 1.25kg, the 21mm thick Vaio TX series are one of the most compact and lightweight laptops available. Their mobility is further complimented by its excellent battery life, rated at 9 hours on a single charge.
Both the TX57GN/B and TX57GN/T are powered by an Intel Core Solo U1500 (1.33GHz) CPU, while the TX56GN/W features a slower Intel Core Solo U1400 1.20GHz processor. All 3 laptops ship with Microsoft's new Windows Vista Business edition.
The Vaio TX series also provide one-touch audio-visual entertainment by allowing DVD movies or music CDs to be played, while the system is in hibernation or when powered off. Its 11.1" LCD screen is powered by Intel's GMA950 chipset (max. 224MB memory).
Other notable features are the built-in memory card reader, fingerprint sensor, wireless 802.11a/b/g and Bluetooth ver2.0+EDR.
